The ‘Read Mujib Programme’ (Poro Mujib Kormoshuchi) is a unique initiative by Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar centred on Bangabandhu. The project originally began to familiarise children and adolescents in rural and semi-urban areas with the childhood of Bangabandhu. Subsequently, its activities expanded significantly. Initially, under the initiative of ‘Team Sufi Faruq’, an event titled ‘Read Mujib’ used to be organised across various schools, colleges, and madrasas in the Kushtia district. At these events, students were introduced to the Mujib Graphic Novel, which is based on Bangabandhu’s The Unfinished Memoirs.

During the event, the novel was first read aloud to the students or displayed via a projector. Following this, a quiz was conducted based on the contents of the book. Copies of the Mujib Graphic Novel were presented as gifts to the winning students.
After launching this initiative in Kushtia, it received a widespread response across the entire country, thanks to social media. Currently, similar events are being organised in educational institutions across various districts, upazilas, and remote villages of the nation.
It is worth noting that on Bangabandhu’s 95th birth anniversary, the Center for Research and Information (CRI), under the initiative of his grandson Radwan Mujib Siddiq, published this book. This 24-page book is titled Mujib. It can be considered the country’s first biographical ‘graphic novel’.

During his tenure as the President of the “Youth Bangla Cultural Forum”, Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar took the initiative through this programme to place copies of Bangabandhu’s The Unfinished Memoirs into the hands of artists nationwide. Through the earnest efforts of the forum members, paperback copies of The Unfinished Memoirs were distributed to a vast section of the country’s celebrities, artists, and cultural performers.
At the inauguration of this programme, Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar stated: “The core objective of ‘Read Mujib’ is to present Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s The Unfinished Memoirs to the people across the country, including children and adolescents in rural and semi-urban areas. This is so that the children and youth of the current generation can learn about the childhood of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I believe it is essential not only for children but for everyone in the current generation to know about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s The Unfinished Memoirs. That is precisely why I have undertaken this programme.”
