“Read Mujib” program in Moinuddin Biswas High School, Bheramara, Kushtia.

To introduce the inspiring life and legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to children in rural Bangladesh, “#TeamSufiFaruq” has launched a captivating campaign titled “Read Mujib.” Initially introduced in various educational institutions across Kushtia, this campaign has garnered immense popularity on social media, prompting its replication in many other regions of the country.

The “Read Mujib” campaign is based on the graphic novel “Mujib,” which is an adaptation of the iconic work “Unfinished Autobiography” by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The novel, crafted into a vibrant 24-page graphic format, was published by Radwan Mujib Siddiq, the grandson of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, through the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) on Bangabandhu’s 95th birth anniversary last year. It stands as the first character-driven graphic novel in Bangladesh, offering young readers an accessible and visually engaging way to learn about the life and struggles of the Father of the Nation.

The structure of the campaign is thoughtfully designed to capture the imagination of young learners. It typically begins with a story session, either projected on screen or narrated live, immersing the children in the inspiring journey of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This is followed by a quiz, allowing the students to engage with the material and deepen their understanding. The winners are then rewarded with copies of the “Mujib” graphic novel, further encouraging a love for history and national pride.

The events have been praised for their dynamic and interactive approach, made possible through the enthusiastic support of local teachers and the eager participation of the students, whose energy and curiosity continue to inspire the organisers. Team Sufi Faruq not only promotes these sessions but also generously provides the books as prizes, ensuring that the legacy of Bangabandhu reaches every corner of the country.

The most recent event took place at Moinuddin Biswas High School in Bheramara, Kushtia, drawing an enthusiastic response from students and educators alike.

As the campaign continues to expand, it aims to inspire a new generation to embrace the ideals and vision of Bangabandhu, fostering a deeper understanding of the nation’s history and the struggles that shaped it.
