To introduce the inspiring life and legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to children in rural Bangladesh, #TeamSufiFaruq has launched the “Read Mujib” campaign in various educational institutions across Kushtia. This initiative has gained significant popularity on social media and is now being replicated in other regions of the country.
The “Read Mujib” campaign is based on the graphic novel “Mujib”, which draws from the book “Unfinished Memoirs” – the autobiography of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The novel, published by Radwan Mujib Siddiq, the grandson of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was released last year by the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) to commemorate the 95th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The 24-page graphic novel is regarded as the first character-based graphic novel in Bangladesh, making the life story of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman more accessible and engaging for young readers.
During the campaign, the children first experience the story through a projector presentation or a live storytelling session, immersing them in the inspiring journey of the nation’s founding father. This is followed by a quiz competition, where the winners receive copies of the “Mujib” graphic novel as a reward, encouraging a deeper understanding of the country’s history and its remarkable leader.
The events have been widely praised for their interactive and engaging approach, thanks to the dedicated efforts of supportive teachers and the enthusiastic participation of the students. #TeamSufiFaruq continues to support this initiative, providing the books as prizes to motivate and inspire the young minds of Bangladesh.
The most recent event in this ongoing campaign was successfully held at Kushtia Cadet Madrasah in Kushtia, where students actively participated, demonstrating a keen interest in learning about their national history and its visionary leader.
