“Read Mujib” program in Kumarkhali MN Pilot Hith School

In a remarkable initiative to introduce the legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the children of rural Bangladesh, “#TeamSufiFaruq” has launched a campaign titled “Read Mujib.” This campaign, which is being held across various educational institutions in Kushtia, has gained widespread popularity through social media. Following its success, the campaign is now being expanded and replicated in several other regions of the country.

The “Read Mujib” campaign is an educational event based on the “Unfinished Autobiography” of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which has been adapted into a graphic novel. The novel, titled Mujib, was published by Radwan Mujib Siddiqui, the grandson of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of his 95th birthday last year. Published by the Centre for Research and Information (CRI), the book, consisting of 24 pages, is considered the first character-based graphic novel in Bangladesh.

The campaign begins with the children watching the story through a projector or listening to a storytelling session. Following this, they participate in an engaging quiz, with the winners receiving a copy of the book as a reward.

The events are vibrant and interactive, thanks to the enthusiastic support from teachers and the constant inspiration drawn from the students. Team Sufi Faruq plays a vital role in promoting the campaign, providing the books as prizes to encourage further participation.

The most recent event took place at Kumarkhali M N Pilot School in Kumarkhali Upazila, Kushtia, where the children eagerly took part in the activities.

This initiative not only provides an introduction to the life and work of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman but also engages the younger generation in a meaningful and enjoyable way, instilling pride in their nation’s history and heritage.
