In a heartfelt effort to introduce the children of rural Bangladesh to the life and legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, #TeamSufiFaruq has launched the “Read Mujib” campaign in various educational institutions across Kushtia. This inspiring initiative, which began in the district, has quickly gained widespread popularity through social media and is now being replicated in numerous other parts of the country.

The “Read Mujib” campaign is an introductory educational event based on the graphic novel “Mujib,” which is an adaptation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s “Unfinished Memoirs.” The graphic novel, published by Radwan Mujib Siddiq, the grandson of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was released by the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) on the occasion of his 95th birthday last year. With 24 pages of rich illustrations, “Mujib” stands as the country’s first character-based graphic novel, offering a creative and engaging way for young readers to learn about the Father of the Nation.
The programme typically begins with a storytelling session or a projected display of the book’s visuals, allowing the children to immerse themselves in the life and times of Bangabandhu. This is followed by an interactive quiz, where the young participants have the opportunity to win copies of the “Mujib” graphic novel as a reward for their enthusiasm and knowledge.
The events are designed to be lively and interactive, with the support of dedicated teachers who guide the children through the learning process, while the students themselves provide continuous inspiration to the organisers. #TeamSufiFaruq actively encourages these sessions and generously provides the books as prizes, ensuring that the spirit of Bangabandhu’s legacy reaches every corner of the country.
The latest of these vibrant sessions was recently held at Educare School, Kushtia Sadar, Kushtia, where students participated with great enthusiasm, reflecting the growing impact of this important educational movement.
