To introduce the legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the children of rural Bangladesh, #TeamSufiFaruq has launched the innovative “Read Mujib” campaign. Initially introduced in various educational institutions in Kushtia, this campaign has quickly gained significant popularity through social media, inspiring similar initiatives in many other parts of the country.
The Read Mujib campaign is designed as an introductory programme based on the graphic novel “Mujib,” which is adapted from the “Unfinished Autobiography” of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This graphic novel, a pioneering work in the country’s publishing history, was released last year on the occasion of the 95th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu by Radwan Mujib Siddiq, his grandson, through the Centre for Research and Information (CRI). Spanning 24 pages, it is considered the first character-based graphic novel of its kind in Bangladesh, providing young readers with a visual and engaging introduction to the life and vision of the Father of the Nation.
During these events, children are first introduced to Bangabandhu’s life story through projectors or engaging storytelling sessions, followed by interactive quizzes based on the content. Successful participants are awarded copies of the “Mujib” graphic novel, making the learning experience both memorable and rewarding.
The atmosphere at these events is vibrant and highly interactive, thanks to the enthusiastic support of teachers and the eager participation of students, who continuously inspire the organisers. Team Sufi Faruq actively supports these events, providing books and motivational guidance to encourage the next generation to connect with their national heritage.
Most recently, this inspiring initiative was held at Kumarkhali Islamia Fazil Madrasa in Kumarkhali, Kushtia, further spreading the message of Bangabandhu’s timeless legacy to the youth of Bangladesh.
